NEW CALL FOR ARTISTS : Dulwich Library Exhibition
4th-31st October.
SLWA is looking for 22 diverse and dynamic works to represent the group. The selected works will hang on the bookends within the library.
Application Deadline: 5pm, Tuesday September 22nd 2009
Notification: Successful applicants will be informed on Sunday 27 September by email.
Private View: Wednesday 7th October from 8pm. Open to all SLWAs

Fees: There is no submission fee.
A £5 fee will be requested from all successful applicants to pay for promotional material.
Accepted Media: Painting, drawing, photography and print.
Due to the nature of the exhibition space the library cannot accept sculpture or video. However, reproductions and video stills are welcome.
Work cannot exceed 55cm in width or 80cm in height and must not be excessively heavy. All works must have D-rings and wire on the back and works on paper must be framed.
Work deemed dangerous to public safety will not be considered. The library staff will do what they can to ensure the safety of the work. Works are left at the artists’ risk.
Application Procedure : There is no application form to fill in, just email up to 3 images of the work you want to submit to:

**All applications will be acknowledged by Patsy- If you do not hear from her your JPEG has not reached her!**
Please save image files as JPEGS. All images should be good quality digital images (300 dpi) and not more than 750KB each.
Include your name, media and dimensions, contact phone number, email and home address. If the work is for sale, please include the price.
Labels will be placed with the work, including your telephone number so that sales can be made directly with you. If a work sells, a replacement work of similar dimensions is required.
Commission: A goodwill payment of 10% to SWLA would be appreciated.
Consignment: If selected, all work must be delivered to the library at 10am Sunday 4 October in person.
All packaging should be removed and taken away by exhibitors.
If unsold, work must be collected at 10am Sunday 1 November. Beyond this point work cannot be stored. If you cannot attend at these times, please make an arrangement with another member of the group.
Schools visits to the exhibition
Building on the goodwill created with our March exhibition, SLWA will be showcasing our artists’ work at Dulwich Library in October. Our twin aim is to further raise SLWA’s profile in Dulwich and to reach out to the community. We are working with local schools to organise visits so that the pupils can meet the artists, be inspired and enhance their curriculum studies. (See more details below

Would you be happy to talk to year 5 pupils and to A level pupils about your working practices?
There will be organised education sessions running on Wednesday afternoons at the Library during the exhibition.
